#ObjectWarCampaign gathering 2023 and actions in Athens
ObjectWar gathering:
The ObjectWar gathering 2023 brought together 30 conscientious objectors and antimilitarists from Russia, Belarus, Finland, Greece and Germany. This year it was organised in Athens, Greece, as the continuation of Baltic Glory peace exercise which was held in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Baltic Glory was from the very start the world’s only peace exercise of its kind and has grown to one of the biggest gatherings of antimilitarists in Northern Europe.
Program:
— anti-war networking of conscientious objectors and antimilitarists from Russia, Belarus, Finland, Greece and Germany on the 20th and 21st of April.
— joint meeting with the European Bureau for Conscientious Objection (EBCO) on the 22nd of April (15:00-17:00).
— joint public action on the 22nd of April (18:00).
Principles:
— we resist the brutal attack to Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
— we support the human right to conscientious objection always and everywhere.
— we use a wide range of methods, strategies and tactics. Violence is not one of them.
A first joint public action in the framework of the #ObjectWarCampaign was co-organised by the European Bureau for Conscientious Objection (EBCO) , the Association of Greek Conscientious Objectors and the ObjectWar gathering on 22/04/2023 at Syntagma square, Athens, defending the right to protection and asylum for deserters and conscientious objectors from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
